Sewing and quilting is a hobby I love. It keeps my mind active, cutting, piecing and playing with fabrics. Quilting is also a therapy and allows me 'time out' to relax. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting under a quilt handstitching on the binding. My family all have at least one quilt even our little Grandson has a selection now.
These quilts have each been made with care and have given me many happy hours of sewing. Most of my quilts as you know, if you have been following my blog, have been made and donated to charities over the last couple of years. I have donated a number of my completed projects to various charities including Project Linus, Alzheimer's Scotland, Alberta Flood Victims, PHEW, local elderly care homes and Marie Curie Care and Support through Terminal Illness. I have already donated some of my quilts to the Marie Curie Glasgow Hospice for their fundraising efforts. Some of the quilts have been made as special requests and donations have been made to my Just Giving Page for Marie Curie in Mum's memory.

It is almost impossible to put a value on the quiltmaking process it is not just thle cost of the fabric and materials used in their making, it is also the many hours spent planning and sitting in front of the computer and sewing machine and the passion that goes into each one. (I have tried costing the materials but it is impossible to jot down the many hours or all the snatched 10 minutes here and there which go into the making)
All my quilt tops have been pieced using 100% cotton fabrics and are sewn using cotton
threads. They are layered with 80/20 cotton mix batting and usually backed with a cosy fleece or contrasting cotton fabric - sometimes you even get two quilts for the price of one - a bonus! A label will be sewn on the back stating when and where it was made. They have not been pre-washed but are fully washable using a cool wash. I would always use a colour catcher when washing for the first time too. Please do not hesitate to contact me using the contact form on the right of the home page if you have any questions or would like to purchase any of my quilts
